Our airport representative will meet you at the arrival terminal to welcome you to the tour. (We provide you with a knowledgeable, friendly, multilingual guide and transportation in excellent condition, luxurious and comfortable air-conditioned vehicles. Drivers are available on request in any language.) Our friendly representative will pick you up from the airport at a comfortable hotel and then proceed to Mahiyanganaya. You are going to be brought to DAMBANA, the indigenous people's isolated settlement in the bush. Once a vibrant community, the number of these indigenous 'Veddha' people has drastically decreased to only roughly 350 households. The 'Veddha' are at risk of losing their customs and the means of subsistence that have sustained them for millennia because they are so impacted by the powerful dominant culture. Meet and converse with the locals to acquire a unique understanding of their way of life and to learn about their customs while visiting this intriguing community.
