Our airport representative will meet you at the arrival terminal to welcome you to the tour. (We provide you with a knowledgeable, friendly, multilingual guide and transportation in excellent condition, luxurious, and comfortable air-conditioned vehicles.) The amazing Dambulla UNESCO World Heritage Site is where your first day begins. Some of the most significant religious artefacts in the nation can be found in this hallowed cave temple complex, which was established in the first century BCE. Explore a network of caverns to take in the opulent interiors, striking frescoes, and astounding assortment of sacred statues, which include a 14-metre (47-foot) golden Buddha lying down. The steep clifftops of the temple provide expansive views over the surrounding farmland and woodlands. Drive a short distance north in the afternoon to Sigiriya, where you will check into your comfortable accommodation for the evening.
You will spend the morning of this day touring Sigiriya, an old city. The ruins of an old fortification constructed in the late fifth century CE can be seen atop the rocky monolith that stands far above the verdant jungle. The name, which means "Lion Rock," alludes to the way that guests have historically started their last trek to the summit of the monument by going through a lion's throat and open jaws. Regretfully, the enormous paws carved into the rock face are all that's left of this lion sculpture today. Visit Minneriya National Park, a sizable sanctuary of meadows and forests, after lunch. Elephants, leopards, sambar deer, and langur monkeys may be seen in the park, which is situated between Habarana and Polonnaruwa. The massive Minneriya Tank reservoir is at its core. Built more than 1800 years ago by the Anuradhapura civilization, its serene shores are the ideal locations to see stork flocks and elephant herds.
On the third day, you arrive in Kandy, the Central Province's capital and your overnight residence. With its advantageous location sandwiched between three mountain ranges, the city welcomes visitors to Sri Lanka's hill country. Take a morning trip to one of the numerous historic towns outside of the city, where you may learn how to make fans from local craftspeople. Hand-woven sunshades and fans known as sesath are now both a vivid reminder of Sri Lanka's regal past and a sign of affluence. Visit the ancient Royal Palace in Kandy throughout the afternoon. Take a tour of its gardens, temples, and shrines before visiting Sri Dalada Maligawa, the temple housing the Sacred Tooth Relic. The most significant Buddhist relic in Sri Lanka is housed in this historic temple complex, which was built in the sixteenth century, and it contains a Buddha tooth.
You'll travel southwest today to reach Bentota's golden beaches. This luxury resort has miles of immaculate beaches and calm waters, making it a popular destination for vacationers. Bentota is a watersports paradise, offering deep-sea fishing in traditional outrigger canoes, windsurfing on mild waves, and scuba diving in coral-rich waters. As night falls, enjoy a feast of recently caught fish and experience the local cuisine before taking in a breath-taking sunset over the Laccadive Sea.
The start of your last day of travel is at Galle, the provincial capital and administrative hub of the south. Explore the beautiful circular bay of Unawatuna Bay, stroll along its palm-lined promenades, and meander through the small lanes and walls of the 17th-century Dutch fort that now serves as the old town. After that, it's time to say goodbye to Sri Lanka and head to the airport in preparation for your return journey. Travel safely!
